On Sunday 24 March, Manon, from the PROTEBoost project, was selected to represent UMons in the national final of the “My thesis in 180 seconds” competition. The principle of the competition is to present your research project in 3 minutes⏱️et in a way that is easy to understand! Manon was only allowed to use one slide.
At the end of 2023, as part of the PROTEBoost project, the ProtMic team (UMons) was awarded first prize in the ESA Technology Transfer Competition, which encourages participants to exploit technological developments from space research for new terrestrial applications. In September, one of our researchers (MNut, UCLouvain) won the prize for the best French-speaking Belgian abstract at the ESPEN 2023 conference. The prize was awarded by the Belgian Society for Clinical Nutrition (SBNC), as part of the MICROBoost project, for a paper on the analysis of volatile metabolites in breath after ingestion of a high-fibre or low-fibre breakfast.
